I’m basically a blue whale in a person suit.

I’m obsessed with how the sound waves from our voices move through our bodies and the connection those sounds have to our success in the creative process.

As a multi-disciplinary creator, art is in my blood. I’ve been a singer, actress, dancer, poet, visual artist, public speaker, and conscio-naut exploring the far reaches of human awareness since I was old enough to ask “WHY?”… repeatedly…

I spend most of my time in my studio singing, drawing pictures of imaginary sea creatures frolicking about, and creating hand-written poetry on my precious stockpile of discontinued Japanese calligraphy paper. When the weather is nice, as it often is in Sequim, I open the big garage door onto our wild garden so I can watch the juncos and chestnut-backed chickadees hunt amongst the fig trees while I create.

My husband and I both work from home. In between clients we love to do Pacific Northwesty stuff like bike riding, walking on the Olympic Discovery trail with our dogs, and taking care of our orchard. I also cook fluently in multiple languages. Being half Korean, I can whip up a mean bibimbap, but my keema mattar and pork carnitas with mango salsa are pretty impressive also. You should smell the kitchen when I have an artisan einkorn boule baking in the oven. Mmmmmmm

I’ve been an artist all my life. I was putting on plays and concerts for my parents’ friends since I was a little kid. Riding in Big Blue, my dad’s beat up old Ford pickup, we’d sing Steppenwolf and Credence Clearwater Revival at the top of our lungs.

I still remember the lyrics to my first solo in the elementary school play. My first art show was as a junior high schooler. They lined the hallway of the second floor with my drawings for the whole 4th quarter. As I got older, I realized I was also gifted for health sciences. In high school, I became torn between a career in the arts and becoming a doctor. I spent the rest of my life looking for the link between the healing arts and creative arts. That passion evolved over the last 20 years into a proprietary process I call The FlowState Tuning Method.

I developed the FlowState Tuning Method with professional singers and, over time, turned it into a coaching approach, an animal communication technique, and 10 book story for children that is all one long rhyming epic.

My students learn how to use the sound of their own voices to echolocate limiting beliefs that show up as tension in their bodies and, more importantly, vibrate those limitations apart.

Told you I was a blue whale.

With over a decade of experience in both theater and as a gigging musician, and also as an award-winning public speaker, I’ve logged a LOT of stage time. But what I love more than being in the spotlight is using my voice to elevate other people’s voices. It’s my true passion in life.

I never dreamed of producing professional performers although some of my students have gone on to be signed by Nashville record labels, sold songs to major network television, and become voice teachers themselves. I’ve worked with CEOs that took their organizations to even greater heights of success and had students who became inspirational public speakers. I am proud of my students’ achievements, but what matters to me the most is helping them express EVERYTHING that is important to them, whether in their intimate relationships, in the board room, or onstage.

I think it’s an act of courage to cultivate one’s voice and I am ALWAYS curious about the kind of person who would be brave enough to undertake such an endeavor.

It’s a privilege to serve the people who study with me. Each one is an adventure waiting to happen. It’s really fun to see my students express their unique gifts! Over the 15 years I’ve been teaching they wrote some pretty sweet things about the work we did together even though, honestly, they deserve most of the credit.

Most of my students have been human beings but some of them have been the four-legged and even winged kind. I’ve worked with dogs, cats, horses, sheep, jaguars that were rescued from the exotic pet trade, and even lizards. Yes. You heard that right. Lizards.

My husband and I raise Silken Windhounds. Our puppies are raised using our proprietary “You’re a Natural” animal communication methods that help create dogs that are confident, creative, and able to connect.

Silkens are my favorite type of dogs but don’t tell the littles I said that. We have a pair of chihuahua mutts affectionately known as the Armpit Piranhas. Did I mention I LOVE dogs? If you are an animal that can read and is dexterous enough to use a computer, honey you outta be in pictures. But if you aren’t famous (yet) click here. I’ll see what I can do to help you.

Thank you for taking some time to learn about me (human and animal alike) ! I hope you’ll come take some lessons so I can learn about you too.

Warmly,
